''WOMENCRACY'' or ''DEMOCRACY''

My girlfriend was the first to wake me up this morning. She was happy to tell me over the phone that she is having a fresh affair with Barrack Obama, the US President elect. I was quite confused, because she lives in Nigeria, so I had to ask her if it is one of this face book dating. She hissed, and then said to me that it is something more than that. "I actually kissed him'' It was quite nice. ''And I wished I never woke up from my dream''.

Latest comments over the just concluded US Presidential election, has brought to our notice that women strongly participated. Attracting substantial amount of votes, which in fact was consequential to Obama's victory.

Even in areas, that are solidly Republicans, such as Texas. Women are said to have pulled in 52 percent of vote for Obama. As if that wasn’t enough, a sweeping 96 percent of African American women voted for Obama.

More followed suite, such as Latino women representing as huge as 70 percent of their total census. More women wished they had lived in America to have voted for Obama on that 4th day of November 2008. Don’t forget, his late grand mother voted too. Including Nigerian resident girlfriends who voted in their various dreams! And all these votes were counted.

In the end, ''Unmarried women gave Obama a margin of victory of more than 12 million votes" (www.feministing.com).

Isn’t the magnitude of Obama's female supporters scarring? As feminists, aren’t we meant to have voted for Mcain for the sake of ''Sarah Palin'' even if it means going out for hunting with her or watching her play some Hockey. The gender betrayal by the women is indeed rather pathetic.

I suggest that henceforth, Mrs. Obama should make sure that more Kenyans, especially those who have some resemblance with Obama be allowed into US, with or without immigration scrutiny. That way her husband will not be at risk to any kind of Monica Lewinsky. Don’t forget Former President Clinton did also cast his vote for Obama.
